Obama School Video

Here is the video I was discussing earlier. I am just absolutely appalled. As I said earlier, as Americans we do not pledge allegiance to the President. We pledge allegiance to the United States of America!

http://features.csmonitor.com/politics/2009/09/03/obama-school-speech-suddenly-a-prickly-topic-for-educators/

I just watched the video on FOX News that is being shown in Utah about celebrities speaking in a video "pledging their support to serve Obama." This video was shown to school children!! What? This is a travesty. Shame on you Obama, and my children will not be in school next week when this plays and or you give your address to them.

I do not pledge allegiance, obedience, or servitude to you, I pledge it to the United States of America and the Constitution. You serve us!

When FOX News posts the video I will upload it.

I am absolutely appalled.

Obama School Speech

OK, this is a bit scary. What is going to be said? What does he want them to learn? How is he going to challenge them? This sounds like a political agenda to me, and that is just plain wrong. In fact, I can not even begin to describe how wrong. Children should not be used as political activists. Shame on you Obama.

Whole Foods

If you have not heard, Whole Foods CEO John Mackey wrote an Op-Ed slashing the Obamacare Health Care Plan, and offering alternative ideas. In response the left tried to protest and boycott Whole Foods.

So instead the Tea Party Movement has organized a "buycott" of whole foods. Here are some of the links. Also, the Whole Foods in Kansas City had a buycott today.

Great job John, and I'll be buying food at Whole Foods this week!

Victory??

I've been stewing on this for a couple days. Just not quite sure how I wanted to approach this. But, it really has been eating at me.

Obama said last week, and it was echoed by Biden that "Victory" was not what we were shooting for in Afghanistan. This just totally set me off.

But then, I had to sit back and think about it. Were we actually shooting for a "Victory?" The answer is a resounding YES. The question becomes how do you define that.

By our National Security Strategies, National Defense Strategies and Mission Statements overseas we are striving to help train, mentor, and build self-sufficient countries that are stable and productive members of the world community. Countries that are not mirror images of us, but rather governments and infrastructure that reflect their own inherent culture and history. Countries that respect human rights, and provide basic services for their citizens.

Our victory is that Afghanistan and Iraq will both be these things. Our Victory is all of are troops being redeployed. That is Victory. To declare anything else means you do not understand our own foreign policy or you simply choose to ignore it and want to cut and run. Hmmm wasn't Obama against the surge, and said it would fail, and the best thing to do was just get out immediately......

Status of Forces in Iraq???

From the Washington Post: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/07/24/AR2009072403877.html

When insurgents attacked an American convoy with AK-47 rounds and a couple of grenades on a dusty highway in a Baghdad suburb this week, U.S. soldiers returned fire, chased the suspects through narrow alleyways and raided houses.Tuesday's clash killed two Iraqi adults and a 14-year-old and wounded four people, including two children.

When the shooting subsided, another confrontation began. A senior Iraqi army commander who arrived at the scene concluded that the Americans had fired indiscriminately at civilians and ordered his men to take the U.S. soldiers into custody. The U.S. military said the soldiers had acted in self-defense and had sought to avoid civilian casualties; U.S. commanders at the scene persuaded the Iraqis to back down.

The incident, apparently the first time a senior Iraqi commander has sought to detain U.S. soldiers, signals a potential escalation of tensions between U.S. and Iraqi forces trying to find a new equilibrium as Iraq assumes more responsibility for its security.

Both sides have starkly different interpretations of vaguely worded restrictions on the authority and movement of U.S. forces that went into effect more than three weeks ago. Those differences, and the friction they are causing in U.S.-Iraqi military relations, have been sharply underscored by the Abu Ghraib attack, which appears to be the first time U.S. soldiers have used deadly force since the new restrictions were imposed.

Wow, after all our Soldiers have done for you. I know this is not every Iraqi Citizen, but if you don't want us, then fine! Although, I am sure that this is political to show how the new government can be tough... but come on, REALLY? Do the Iraqi people really want to go it totally alone right now. I am not so sure.

I'm having a little bit of a knee-jerk reaction I'm sure, but this sits very badly with me. I've attended too many Memorial Ceremonies for my husbands men, to read things like this.

Its All My Jurisdiction

Just was watching Obama's impromptu appearance at the Gibb's News Briefing. Beyond everything else, this really scared me....

And I paraphrase because I did not have a digital recorder handy....

"Some people have faulted me for becoming involved in a local-issue. I do not see it this way. I will get involved in issues like this. This is my purview to become involved in."

Wait just a minute Obama, we are a Federal Republic, with a Constitution. The US Constitution firmly lays down the division of powers at the Federal level and the division of powers between the national and state governments. Unless you are planning on re-writing the Constitution, you are way outside your lane.

The fact that he has said things like this before that go against the Constitution scare me the most.

Twenty Two Thousand More Soldiers

I've read a great deal today about Secretary of Defense Gates' comments about adding another twenty two thousand troops to the US Army's strength. This sounds great. I hope it happens. But here are just a few concerns that I have right up front.

Units deploying right now are not receiving their final assignment of Soldiers sometimes until 30-60 days out from deployment. Are these 22,000 going to go to manning these units correctly for all of their train-up? Or are we going to create more Brigades that are not properly manned for their complete train-up?

In addition to the increased number of Soldiers, that means at least double the number of family members. Is the SECDEF going to increase funding to the bases to have adequate facilities to accommodate this increase?

Some examples of how this plays out. If you are a wife, and even have a doctors appointment, you must find childcare for your children. You can't take them with you to the appointment. Grandma and Grandpa are not nearby. Currently I have to call 6 weeks in advance in order to hope I can get hourly care for my youngest. Will we see more childcare facilities?

Will there be more housing built? I know the Army is quite proud of it's current housing initiative, but we are still short on-base housing. Is he going to increase funding for this?

Is he going to increase medical professionals? Is he going to increase Exceptional Family Member Program personnel?

The reason I am asking these questions is that the Military Budget is taking drastic hits under the Obama Administration; 25% over one year, 25% the next year. So Secretary Gates, are you going to program this money back into the budget in order to not only increase the number of Soldiers but to sustain Soldier and Family Life-Support Systems On-Base? I hope someone has thought of these 2nd and 3rd order effects. I would like to think so. I am all for a stronger military, but I just hope it is done properly. I remember being active duty and then a family member under Bill Clinton....it was not pretty.

American "Liberal" Nurses Association

Have you seen those nurses that are constantly being paraded out by Obama every time he wants to sell his health-care plan? I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of them too, with his poll numbers down to 49% approval of his health-care plan. But, I'm off topic.

I have been a Nurse now for over 14 years. Most of that spent in ER / Trauma, but also some in ortho and pediatrics. I was asked a number of times to join the American Nurses Association, and every time over that time period I declined. Very simply put, their political stances are very liberal, and they are not ashamed to plaster it all over their website.

Just during this past election, I checked out their website. What I found was not a discussion of which candidate was best but rather an, "I Love Obama Fest", that would have made Chris Matthews sick! We all know how much ole Chris is in love with him.

So when you see the American Nurses Association paraded out by Obama, just remember they do not represent all nurses. They have had a liberal agenda for a long time, and this is nothing new for them. It is exactly why, many of us do not join them.

Obama and his Speech On July 4th

You know for the very first time I agree with President Obama. He said today that American's can do anything; and have conquered and overcome all challenges and adversity. (I'd bring up his comments about America to the rest of the world, but that's not my point this morning)

But, I agree! We can overcome any adversity and challenge. We have in the past and we will again. Big Government is not the answer! Socialized Health Care is not the answer! Socialism is not the answer! Government Bail-Outs are not the answer! And you Mr Obama and your friends Pelosi and Reid are not the answer either!

You're right we can overcome any adversity and challenge, and we will start with the 2010 elections!

May God Bless America and Happy 4th of July!

Honduras / Iran???

Well for the last two weeks the people of the world have watched the Iranian Government brutally put down demonstrations over the election. Neda and many others were killed, people beaten, and even children abused by their police, militia, and special units. What did we get from our President? Five days after the fact there was a weakly worded statement basically saying what your doing is bad, and you shouldn't do it. I wasn't that impressed.

Now, enter Honduras. Mr Zelyas, the overthrown leader was a thug, and a thug that was attempting to circumvent his countries Constitution and stay in power beyond his term limits. He also had been conducting various human rights violations, and was trying to move Honduras more and more towards a semi-authoritarian state. Sounds like a nice guy.

So the Honduran Military overthrew him, AND there is widespread condemnation! God Forbid they do this from Obama! He has condemned them, threatened to cut aid, and cut off all military advisor support. So what is the difference? Is it the fact that your book of the month club friend Hugo Chavez was greatly upset by this change in government? Hmmm....

I am really starting to get scared by this President's idiotic and ludicrous decisions. I am scared for our countries welfare and scared for my husband and all the Soldiers like him. I can only guess at the stupidity that this person will have them doing.

God Bless America....and God do we need it!

Disagreeing with Obama's Healthcare Plan

I've been sitting here for the last few weeks listening to the President talk about Health Care Reform, and I have a few questions for him.

First, how in God's name are we going to pay for this? Yes, Yes I know he has put forth some ideas. Namely the idea that my Great Great Grand-Children will be paying for it and all of the other spending he is doing. OUR COUNTRY IS ON A BUDGET AND WE CAN NOT AFFORD IT RIGHT NOW!

Second, there are the hidden costs. Namely, more doctors, more nurses, more clinics, more hospitals. I have news for him, all of the above are already at their care limits. How are we going to create these new personnel? Who is going to pay for the new infrastructure? Is he just going to wave his magic ice cream cone and make them all appear?

Third, who exactly will this plan cover? Medicaid already covers the poor and disabled. Will it include Illegal Immigrants? No one may be turned away at an Emergency Room. So what are we going to do about them? Are my tax dollars now going to officially pay for them as well?

Finally, lets take a quick spin through socialized medicine in other countries. The only countries where it works a "little" is ones with small population centers. The remainder, have brought nothing but negative critiques about treatment availability and treatment quality. So how are you making our lives better?

Oh, and this is to Congress...are you all going to be using this new system or will it only be the poor and uninsured who must wait for treatments, meds, doctors, etc.

I know this is alot of -itching without any solutions put forth. I will be writing on that tomorrow. I believe there has to be a better way. There is truely a REAL problem for uninsured and underinsured in this country. Tax-paying, law abiding citizens who have either lost jobs or have insurance that takes their money and gives crappy coverage. It is a crisis.

Iran Video from CNN

Liberty Seeking Iranians Bleed in the Street---Obama Gets Ice Cream

In striking contrast today, President Obama and family go for an ice cream in Alexandria, Va while the world is watching Iran from amature video gotten from Iranian citizens risking their lives to get it out. Never mind that the video being smuggled out was of protesters being shot, beaten and burned with acid from above.

I am sure that it was a great father/daughter moment, but since they had to go through a group of protesters outside the White House, it seems like bad timing. I am pretty sure that their chef could whip up some awesome frosty treats without the full suburban parade.

I just see this moment in time as definitive of this President. Lots of talk about wanting to promote change and no balls to carry it out.

What should he do?

1. Call an emergency UN general session meeting. Call for UN pressure on Iran to recognize the Iranian people's right to vote per Iran's own semi-democratic election process.

2. Put out a personal (not written) statement to the Iranian people of our commitment to their rights and commitment to talks with them.

America stands for freedom and liberty. The protesters in Iran are crying for what we take for granted everyday. They do not want to be exactly like the US, they are proud to be Iranian and want to have their voice heard. We can not be the United States of America and ignore this cry. Military is not the answer. Words are much more powerful right now.

President Obama, if you believe in what this country stands for, grab some balls and do something about it. I apologize for disturbing you on your Father's Day weekend, but that is why you get the big bucks!

Obama Missing Chance of Lifetime

President Obama is missing the chance to heal relations between the US and the Islamic World. Something that he claims is one of the reasons for all of his "apologies" and other crazy behaviors and actions in the Middle East. Yet....where is he?

Hardly a peep from the White House on the events in Iran that started 2 days ago with the presidential election. The current leader of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, claimed a landslide victory just 2 hours after poles closed with 85% of the population confirmed at the poles.

Mousavi, the opposing candidate, cried fraud immediately as his supporters hit the street in protest. Almost as immediately, the police started to crack down on the protesters, ending in door to door searches for anyone putting out info to the world about what is really happening in Iran. Oh, by the way, communications were jammed and the international press were thrown out. The only press coverage that has been allowed has been sanctioned by the current leadership.

This is really only the tip of the iceberg. There are Iranians risking there lives trying to get info out to the world about what is going on. Unfortunately, we are seeing very limited coverage here and when we do see it, no one is addressing how these events can effect the world.

I am going to stop there for now, but please check out CNN, BBC and Reuters for more info. Usually, I am a FOX watcher, but they are lagging way behind. This event has the potential to change the way the world relations work for many generations. Of course, that would require the Obama administration to take a stand with those that would be our friends. With those that are being tortured and murdered for wanting a fair vote in their country.

Will we again leave possible, valuable friends out to dry?

I am not optimistic.

Mr. Obama, You Scare Me

This letter authored by Lou Pritchett was forwarded to me from friend and was copied from the American Family Association website page. I echo his sentiments.

http://www.afa.net/youscareme.asp

Lou Pritchett is a former vice president of Procter & Gamble whose career at that company spanned 36 years before his retirement in 1989, and he is the author of the 1995 business book, Stop Paddling & Start Rocking the Boat.

Mr. Pritchett confirmed that he was indeed the author of the much-circulated "open letter." “I did write the 'you scare me' letter. I sent it to the NY Times but they never acknowledged or published it. However, it hit the internet and according to the ‘experts’ has had over 500,000 hits.

The one good guy.....

From Fox News:

Speculation is growing that Gen. Jim Jones will not last long as President Obama's national security adviser because of the retired Marine general's supposedly poor performance.

Several White House and National Security Council sources told FOX News that the Obama administration is baffled by Jones, who is a longtime friend of Sen. John McCain, the man Obama defeated for the White House. One NSC staff member claimed that Jones is so forgetful that at times he appears to have Alzheimer's disease.

Jones' primary duty is to manage the conflicting views of the State Department, Pentagon and other parts of U.S. foreign policy. But he isn't seen near Obama's side often and he has kept his distance from the media.

Obama officials don't expect Jones to stay in his post past the fall, one source told FOX News.
But Secretary of Defense Robert Gates took the unusual step this week of reaching out to the Washington Post to defend Jones and dismiss the rumors.

Gates told Washington Post columnist David Ignatius that the rumors are coming from "lower levels," not from any of the power brokers.

So basically, the one good guy that is working for him, is now being slandered in the press. This seems to be becoming a regular trend for them. The other side of this, I wonder how much of this is the low level very liberal workers who just don't like him because he is military? Wouldn't be the first time I have heard the military talked about in disdain by this administration's staffers.

Terrorists Get Miranda Rights

What the Hell! That is my first reaction to the fact that US soldiers, Special Forces and FBI have to read Miranda rights to anyone they arrest in Afghanistan (possibly Iraq) per an Obama Administration executive order. This is dangerous for soldiers, crazy for a war zone, and just another point the terrorists look to in seeing the US as weakening. President Obama is apparently trying to tie the hands of the military and other personnel. Why?....I can only guess.

Sarah and David

David Letterman has officially crossed the line on his show recently with some insulting jokes pointed toward Sarah Palin and her daughter, Bristol. Picking on a political figure is one thing. Insulting a child of a political figure is another and is despicable!

I was under the impression that liberal thinkers supported single mothers and their noble quest of supporting themselves and their child/children. I was under the impression that we lift up those that are trying to help prevent teenage pregnancy and show young people the sacrifices that must be made when a child comes into your life.

Bristol Palin is merely trying to live her life and raise her son in some extraordinary circumstances. Most teenage moms are not in the national spot-light. In her free time she speaks to young people about teenage pregnancy. Let's pay her back with insulting jokes, yeah that is a great idea...

Honoring Private William Long

Has anyone else noticed that the MSM has completely ignored the fact that Private William Long's funeral was today?? Here is a brave young soldier, who gave his life for his country, and is being completely ignored. The local TV Stations had short stories about it. But even FOX News only had a short story about a gag order being ordered in the case. That was it, nothing about his funeral or memorial service at all. Heck Casey Anthony 6 months later is still in the news more. Our own President could only send a short comment 48 hours after his death??

Private Long, you will not be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, and we will honor your sacrifice.

Honoring D-Day Vets

WWII brought so many of our nation's young men to the frontlines. Two of these great men were my Grandfathers. One was a Marine in the Pacifice front and one an Army soldier in Europe. My grandfather that fought in Europe has passed on, but attened the 50th D-Day Anniversary and every 82nd Airborne function he could find. My Marine grandfather was just brought to Washington, D.C. recently as one of the last WWII vets as they opened the National WWII Memorial. I am so proud of both of them. They are great men that fought in horrible conditions and came out the other end with a perspective that has made them heros in their families and communities by everyday acts of charity and generousity. They loved their country and were willing to give themselves as sacrifice if needed for the freedom of the world. May their memory along with all WWII Vets and Fallen Soldiers never be forgotten.

On one of the D-Day Celebrations in Europe, Obama ignored the group of 82nd Airborne soldiers saluting him and went over to a bystander instead. I am sure the bystander was important, but a small sign if respect would have been nice, if only because the 82nd Airborne lost THOUSANDS of men that day....

Great Article About D-Day Ceremonies

Great article about the D-Day 65th Anniversary Ceremonies.
Picture is from the article.
American and German World War II veterans paid respects to their fallen comrades at a cemetery near a D-Day landing site Friday before an international commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy.

During the ceremony, military bands played anthems of the United States, Germany, Britain and France and German visitors piled wreaths of flowers at the foot of a mound at the center of the cemetery at La Cambe. Some 22,000 German soldiers are buried beneath clusters of rounded brown crosses in a grassy meadow not far from Omaha Beach.

After the ceremony, most visitors headed out, but a few dozen stayed on in a corner of the cemetery, where a German priest and a few soldiers buried the remains of a German soldier discovered last year. A Frenchman conducting construction work near the German battery at Grand Camp Maisy, a dozen miles away, came across first a gun and then the remains, which have yet to be identified.

"It's a great feeling ... to come here," said Austin Cox of Crisfield, Maryland, a sergeant with the 29th Division of the U.S. 115th infantry regiment who landed on Omaha Beach at 9 a.m. on the epic day that turned the tide of World War II.

"My comrades though are buried over at Omaha," said Cox, 90.

PVT William Long

PVT William Long was the United States Soldier killed in the recruiting station attack. My heart and prayers are with his family right now. His father was a US Marine, and his mother in the Navy. This is unbelievably sad, and I truly hope that the attacker, a TERRORIST, is given the death penalty.

Remember the family tonight and pray for them.

God Bless America, PVT Long, and his family.

http://www.katv.com/news/stories/0609/628745.html

So Much To Talk About...

Where oh where do I begin....

Lets start with the fact that with the exception of Fox News, no major news outlet will call the Recruiting Station Attack what it was, a terrorist attack. Whether he was born here or not, it doesn't matter, he strove to attack an infrastructure of the government in order to make a grievance known. That is a definition of an insurgent. He also did it in a very public place, where it would be highly covered in the media, causing fear. That is a definition of terrorism. Are we that afraid now to call a terrorist attack what it is?

Secondly we have Obama in Saudi Arabia. I found it quite amusing that the King would not hold his hand. For those who know Arab culture, and the Saudi King's prior interaction with leaders, this is quite unusual. Maybe we should take a lesson from him.

Third, what is the big speech tomorrow? Hmmm....oh I don't know, but I can make a guess. I would bet he is going to do three things. One, he is going to apologize to the Arab world again, for as he would put it, American arrogance. Second he is going to call upon Israel to stop the settlements and immediately accept the two state solution. Three, he is going to try to embrace Iran again. How far he is going to go on the last one I am not sure. After the last 24 hours, and inviting them to 4th of July BBQ's I cant even begin to guess at specifics.

Whatever he says, I'm sure I'll have plenty to write on tomorrow night. Can our foreign policy get any worse?

Obama and Iran

Well lets see. Does this make any sense?

First off today, you had Obama stating that Iran could have nuclear power as long as they promised to not use it to make nuclear weapons. Why oh why am I pessimistic about this? Maybe its the fact they have asserted they will wipe Israel off of the face of the planet with a nuclear sword. Maybe it's the fact that they can not be trusted. Maybe its the fact that they have lied and deceived so many times I can't count. Maybe its because they are arming and training militias in Iraq to kill American Soldiers.

Then we have this latest story from the BBC.

OK, even though you have done all of these things, including help kill our wonderful Soldiers, come on over for the BBQ. Don't worry about all those bad things you've done, and are still doing, your cordially invited.

Where is this lunacy going to stop?

NO More Funds

Yesterday, I was contacted by my son's speech therapist. She explained that we would not be meeting any longer or at least until she could get established on her own. The organization that employed her, Nourishing Families in Kansas, did not get the state funding that the 0-3yr old Infant-Toddler Program relies on to keep operating.

This is the only organization that provides speech, physical, occupational and other therapies to developmentally delayed pre-school children in my area. My insurance pays for my son's therapies, although not the amount that is charged by the organization (about 60%). Perhaps Nourishing Families needed the state funds to operate because insurance companies would not pay the full amount. Or perhaps because they provide therapies to kids who may not be able to pay at all. I do not know.

In any case, there will be huge hole in services to area children that are in a critical development stage. Intervention at early ages is the best chance these kids have rise to their full potential in the future.

My question...who makes these decisions and what is being funded instead of this important program. I suspect these programs are easier to drop because these parents are too busy with their children to lobby their congressmen. I was not even aware that Kansas was having huge budget problems. And I do try to keep up. It just seems like our children should be a priority, not a top-of-the-list liability that can be cut without explanation.

Very Good Article by Dick Morris

Great Article by Dick Morris.

http://www.dickmorris.com/blog/

Obama's liberal philosophy dictates that when the news is bad, shoot the messenger. The newest data from Arbitron, the company charged with measuring the size of radio audiences, suggests that listenership to hip hop, inner city, and minority radio has been overstated in the past and that the popularity of conservative talk radio has been under-reported.

This conclusion - ideologically inconvenient for Obama - comes from the company's decision to dispense with the Stone Age way it has been measuring radio audiences - by hand written diaries based on listener memory - with modern machines which automatically record what the person is listening to and for how long.

The opening barrage in Obama's efforts to reign in talk radio was fired by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) this week when its acting Chairman Michael J. Copps announced an investigation of Arbitron's radio measuring technology called the Portable People Meter. (Not to be confused with the Purple People Eater celebrated in song in the 1950s).

Obama and his Arlington Speech

To be very honest it made me nauseous to see President Obama standing there, laying the wreath today at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, after all his dishonorable comments and actions to date towards the US Military and our National Security. To be honest it looked like it pained him to even stand there and have to say good things about the United States, the US Military, and our Veterans.

Obama stated today that he honored all of the men that have served and fallen. That they are the reason there is freedom and liberty in the world. If he honors them so much, why did he go on the "world apology tour" bashing America?

He stated that the military would have all it needs to do it's job if called upon. But then he cuts defense spending drastically in this budget, and even worse it looks like in the next one.

He says military families will have all that we need. But, then again he cuts defense spending, and makes it more dangerous for our family members to do their jobs since they will not have the training time and equipment that they need. Sounds more like a bribe to me. If given a choice between the terrible housing we have lived in at various bases or nice, new housing and services but less for training and equiptment...I choose the former EVERY time.

He says that he honors the military while he has counted amongst his friends those that have attacked the military and ridiculed us all.

Actions speak louder then words Mr. President, and your actions show us exactly what you think of all of us, Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, or Family Member.

obama and his hypocrisy

Have you noticed how obama is stating over and over this weekend how much he honors the US Military and all of our Veterans? Gee, its funny I just don't believe him.

Maybe its the fact that since he came into office he has been cutting defense spending. Maybe it's because he's been trying to reduce Veteran's benefits. Maybe because it's his DHS that releases memos stating returning Veterans are a threat to national security. Maybe its because of the pompous way that he stages photo ops with the military to try and show support.

He even has promised that with all of his defense cuts the family programs will not be touched. Well that sounds great, but what that really means is training and equipping funds will be hit hard. So you can have a wonderful looking base, but no money to train with. Gee, that's really honoring our Veterans and Military, preventing them from training for their next mission.

obama talks a nice game. He says things that sound good on the surface, but as soon as you start peeling back the layers you find nothing but rotten festering agendas. Most importantly, actions speak louder then words, lets see some actions that actually honor the military obama.

obama and Defense Spending

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/05/22/obama-signs-tightening-defense-spending/?test=latestnews

Not that this was not needed, but what about all the other pork and wasteful spending within the Federal Government? Over and over again, obama takes swipes at organizations within the government like the US Military while pushing more money towards his liberal socialist agenda. I am truly sickened...

pelosi Needs To Go

Never mind just the general reasons why I think I think nancy pelosi needs to go, this sums it up even better.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/05/22/democrats-defend-pelosis-accusation-cia/

In her first public comments since accusing the CIA of lying to Congress about Bush-era interrogation methods, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Friday she stood by her statement.
Then she refused to make any more remarks, attempting to tamp down a story that she fueled last week that Republicans now want her to prove.

"I have made the statement that I'm going to make on this. I don't have any more to say on this," she said at her weekly news conference. "I stand by my comments. And what we are doing is staying on our course and not being distracted from it."

Pelosi brought backup with her: House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and other members of the Democratic leadership flanked her but none of them dared touch the CIA controversy. Instead they took turns talking about every issue under the sun -- the economy, health care, energy policy, credit cards -- except Pelosi's allegations.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), the panel tasked with getting party members elected to the House, immediately slammed Pelosi.

"Speaker Pelosi stammered and filibustered around the elephant in the room because she knows full well that she has become a political liability to her fellow Democrats in Congress," NRCC spokesman Ken Spain said in a statement.

Fine nancy, you stand by your accusation that you were lied to. Great, I stand by the fact that you are a liar and need to go. Today would not be soon enough.

Former Vice President Cheney

I just love how the democrats are up in arms over his speech. Lets just lay out some facts though first:

1. His speech was scheduled long before obama felt the need for a campaign speech again.
2. At no time did he say anything that was not true; while in contrast I can not even begin to count the fallacies, flip-flops, and falsehoods uttered by obama.
3. VP Cheney was exactly right in declaring they were using certain releases as political stunts.

Then we have the typical democratic whining about former administrations (namely the President and Vice President) don't attack the sitting administration. Well, first off, you have been the largest violators of this with carter and clinton. Secondly, he is a private citizen again. If he feels the need to call it like he sees it, then he has every right to. Believe me, we need men like him right now to expose this charlatan administration for what it really is. Trying to fundamentally change us to a socialist nation.

Thank You Vice President Cheney for continuing to speak up and telling it like it is.

Hope for the Republican Party?

RNC Chairman, Michael Steele, made an important and bold speech today criticizing the President and encouraging members to support the Republican party and stand up for their values as well as the parties values when voting on issues such as taxes and spending. He described President Obama's first 100 days as a "reign of error" that has resulted in the government's new businesses of selling cars, running banks, and printing money. Oh, and by the way, "95% of Americans will NOT get a tax cut."

I would like to give Mr. Steele a huge hug for finally coming out and laying the facts on the line and giving the American people something more than the pack of lies that keep spewing from the Whitehouse. This Presidents seems more concerned with the environment than creating jobs. More concerned with ending nuclear proliferation than wondering why China is ramping up for war. More concerned with speeches than policies that make sense and are good for the country, not just an ideal that he holds.

I am appalled by it all and hardly have the words each day.

I apologize for my absence as of late, family business, but I am back on track now and will be keeping up with the current news but will also be researching and commenting on family/women's issues that I hold dear.

God Bless,

What A Day For Nancy Pelosi

Wow, what a big day for Nancy Pelosi. First she didn't know. Then she kinda knew. Now the CIA lied. Tell me Nancy, whats next??? John Stewart had it right last night with his Waffle House comments. No offense to Waffle House.

From Fox News:

Republicans said they were stunned Thursday by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's claim that she was powerless as minority leader to intervene in the CIA's "enhanced interrogation techniques" used on terrorism suspects.

Earlier in the day, Pelosi told reporters that the CIA misled Congress on its activities, but she protested that she knew that any complaints by her about the use of waterboarding and other harsh tactics would fall on deaf ears.

Pelosi said in her weekly news conference that she supported a letter drafted in February 2003 by Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif. -- the new ranking Democrat on the House intelligence panel who attended a briefing that month that included discussions on waterboarding -- and sent to the Bush administration, raising concerns over the program. Harman was the "appropriate person to register a protest," Pelosi said "But no letter or anything else is going to stop them from doing what they're going to do," she added.

Not so, said Sen. Kit Bond, R-Mo., the top Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee. "As a member of the Gang of Four, if the CIA proposes to do something that we think is wrong, we can do something about it. We've done something about," he said.

The so-called "Gang of Four" refers to the four members of Congress who serve in the chairman and vice chairman spots on the Senate and House Intelligence Committees. In 2002, that group included Sens. Bob Graham, D-Fla., and Richard Shelby, R-Ala., and Reps. Porter Goss, R-Fla, and Pelosi, D-Calif.

Bond said that as minority leader, Pelosi could have used a number of legislative tools to block the program, including using the Constitution's Speech and Debate clause, which protects lawmakers who wish to speak on the House floor on sensitive issues. She could also have insisted that other members be briefed on interrogation techniques; moved to cut CIA funds; insisted Congress go into closed session, like during Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act and Patriot Act revisions; or sought revisions to the National Security Act to change congressional notification requirements.

obama 100 days press conference

HOLY COW! Where to start...

President obama held a press conference tonight in prime time (his 3rd in 3 mo). My question, where was the press? Or, I'm sorry, where were their voices? Obama has essentially neutered the press with his prepared list of only 13 liberal people to call upon, his mind-numbingly long answers that don't really answer any significant question, and his ability to avoid ANY economic questions in the middle of one of the worst economic times in this country's history.

Okay, am taking a breath. A few standout points:

1. Great Britain's Churchill did not torture the Germans because they were uniformed soldiers of a recognized enemy army, as per the Geneva Convention. However, they have no problem using VERY enhanced interrogation techniques with the IRA or spies.
Most of all, I am very scared that our President does not see anytime that he would approve enhanced interrogation methods, NOT ANY TIME.

2. What the hell is going on when a member of the press asks such a soft question as "What has surprised, enchanted, etc him about his first 100 days" ! Please!!! There were no questions to challenge his policy on the economy, the HUGE spending/increased taxes, the flight of fear over NYC a few days ago or anything substantial to the current times.

I am angry that Obama is getting a pass from the press, that Obama disrespects the American People by thinking they are so ignorant that they can not see the OBVIOUS orchestrating of every aspect of this conference and his presidency. Orchestrating is not new, but Obama brings it to new heights each and every day.

I am sad that I have to sit here tonight and put into words what should be obvious to someone who is the leader of the free world.

obama and the questions

13 softball questions and I am not impressed...

obama on his job

he's surprised at how many challenges he has to deal with. You wanted the job. We are the ones getting the short end of the stick. My report card for you: F

obama admits to nationalization

In case you missed it, obama just said, yes we are the shareholders in the auto industry, and we will tell them what to do.

obama for illegal immigration?

OK, first off you said you had great faith in Janet Napolitano, the person who claims there should be no illegal immigration.

Second, those here illegally should be put on a path to citizenship immediately?

Third, your worried about the safety of illegal immigrants coming here?

Fourth, you want to change everything about this in the next year?

Now I can see why you don't want to close the border. Illegal immigrants are more important to you then the citizens your supposed to serve.

obama impressed

Well you ignored the Military during your campaign, blew off the wounded to play basketball and every time you meet with them, you have them carefully selected to make sure they supported you in the election.

obama and I need my waders

You know as he continues to talk, I am going to get my waders. It's getting deep in here.

obama on the Iraq Ambassador

I am so glad that obama has great confidence in the new ambassador to Iraq Chris Hill. Even though he is completely a political appointment with almost no experience in the Middle East. Again, I feel so safe and confident....

Obama On Torture

So the president says he will keep the nation safe at any cost? But he would never ever consider enhanced interrogation to gain time sensitive information to save millions of American lives. Which by the way does not physically injure the person being interrogated. Gee, I feel safe.

By the way these men have sworn to destroy us. Again, gee, I feel safe with you in charge.

Border Closure

So the president just said that there was no reason to close the border. Oh I don't know what could make me think we should. Maybe because the 1st death in the US was a Mexican Child who had come here. Maybe because every case here in the United States so far was people returning or coming home from Mexico.

DHS Secretary At It Again

Well Janet Napolitano's at it again. From Fox News.

The outrage continues to build over a report from her department that warned of the danger of right-wing "extremists," and singled out returning war veterans as susceptible to recruitment.

Napolitano expressed regret for the reference to veterans -- but she raised eyebrows again this week when she suggested that the Sept. 11 hijackers entered the United States through Canada, even though the 9/11 Commission determined they came to the United States from overseas.

Mr. President, fire that woman," said Rep. John Carter, R-Texas, complaining that Napolitano's comments on the controversial report were half-hearted. "To go on television and say your apology to be, 'I'm sorry you were offended by this report,' that's no apology."
Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., also said Napolitano's resignation is in order, and she should be brought before Congress for a hearing.

Napolitano on Thursday acknowledged the criticism and reiterated that the extremist report was "not well written" and should not have been released in that form. She said she would meet with the leadership of the American Legion on Friday over the reference to returning war veterans.

But she rebuffed those who say an apology is not enough. "That's what they're going to get," Napolitano said.

So.... you insult Veterans, Military Personnel that is still active, and, to a larger degree, conservatives in general. You only said your "pseudo-apology" after two days of criticism. Initially, you said you defended the report. I'm not buying your apology.

And now we have the newest of her "brilliant" comments.

She also corrected her statements on Canada, admitting that she falsely suggested Sept. 11 terrorists crossed over from Canada. "I knew the minute it came out of my mouth it was wrong," she said.

Napolitano first clarified her comments in a written statement that said: "I know that the September 11th hijackers did not come through Canada to the United States. There are other instances, however, when suspected terrorists have attempted to enter our country from Canada to the United States."

Her explanation was not so clear during the interview Monday with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation that sparked the new controversy.

The secretary was asked to elaborate on comments about giving the Mexican and Canadian borders equal treatment, even though Canada is not experiencing a violent drug war.

"Yes, Canada is not Mexico, it doesn't have a drug war going on," she said. "Nonetheless, to the extent that terrorists have come into our country or suspected or known terrorists have entered our country across a border, it's been across the Canadian border. There are real issues there."

Well, number one, I am glad that the head of the DHS is so intelligent and spun up on national security events that she can't correct herself during the interview but rather wait for an assistant to tell her after the interview. Sorry if I'm being a bit cynical, but I'm pretty sure that is what happened.

Second, the borders should NOT be treated the same. Mexico has a raging drug war going on, bordering on a civil war and the US State Department has sent out travel warnings and failed state warnings in reports. In fact, they compared it to Pakistan in one report. The illegal immigration problem and large amounts illegal drugs also enter the US from Mexico. The only logical answer is that Mexico is the larger issue of the two. Also, I actually trust the Canadian Police and Military. Mexico has had a few issues with corruption. Things like escorting drug runners and firing on our Border Patrol Agents.

Rep. Carter and Bachmann are exactly right. Napolitano needs to go. At best, she's inept and incompetent.

More On General Motors

AP and Fox is now confirming the story and have it on the Internet. Is not confirmed from GM officially yet.

From AP and FOX:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,517498,00.html

Two people briefed on the plan say General Motors Corp. will close most of its U.S. factories for up to nine weeks this summer because of slumping sales and growing inventories of unsold vehicles.

The people did not know exactly when the shutdowns would occur, but both say they will include the normal two-week closure in July to change from one model year to the next. Neither person wanted to be identified because workers have not been told of the shutdowns.

GM spokesman Chris Lee would not comment other than to say the company notifies employees before making any production cuts public.

Breaking News

Fox News is currently carrying a Breaking News Alert that General Motors may close US Plants for up to 9 weeks this summer. More to follow on this one. I can't find this report online yet. If this is true, this is going to be bad.

Afghan Women Stoned

How lucky we are to be in a country where we are free to protest. Afghanistan's new constitution includes Islamic or Sharia Law which last week allowed the stoning of women who were protesting the marital rape law and other atrocities.

Should we continue to help a country that allows this type of human rights violation? Probably another whole discussion. I just want to shed light on what Islamic (or Sharia) law truly entails. Women, children, and any non-Muslim have little or no rights. Death for small infractions are common and LAWFUL. Please educate yourself. I say this because I see more and more actions and comments by our government and/or government officials that are sympathetic to these laws within America. I pray it is because they are not aware of the full extent of these laws. Otherwise, ... I just don't want to think about it.

Boycott CNN / MSNBC

After getting home last night from the Kansas City Tea Party, I flipped between a number of News Networks. Obviously, FOX News did a GREAT job protraying the sentiment of the crowd and the general purpose of the events. But this is what CNN / MSNBC / and the rest of the main stream media had to say:

1. We are a bunch of right wing nut jobs.
2. We are extremists and fringe.
3. Calling us other derogatory names and slurs that I will not repeat here.
4. This was not important.
5. That we were rude, crude, and unintelligent.

I don't know where CNN and MSNBC were, but they could not have been attending ANY of the Tea Parties. What I experienced was a group of educated, diverse, and patriotic folks that cared deeply about their country. None were armed, none spoke any profanity (really, not even shouted!), and none believed that there could be anything MORE important for America's future right now. (They even picked up after themselves, NO TRASH ANYWHERE FROM 5000 PEOPLE!)

If any of these irresponsible observations from these national news outlets offend you, like they did me, then BOYCOTT CNN / MSNBC.

Wow! What a Party!

I am still downloading all of my photos and video from the Kansas City, MO Tea Party that happened today from 4pm-about 6:30pm. I am at a loss for words....I was not sure who would be there or how many or if there would be trouble or what. I had never been involved in any type of rally or protest in my life. I was deeply moved and VERY motivated.

There were some there that were obviously angry and on a mission to be heard. The majority, it seemed, were like me: concerned about the state of our government, concerned for our country's future and just hoping there were plenty others out there who felt the same. I asked a few who did not want to be on camera, why they had come. The answers were slightly differing but the same in that they felt the federal government has gotten too big and does not represent the people's best interest. They were from diffents backgrounds and professions. There had been rumors of such a "silent majority", but the proof is now in my camera and in my heart.

Okay, so much for my gushy comments. There were some wonderful speakers, including a 17 yr old who gave a wonderful speech on leadership. Here was the line up:

Paul Hamby, Campaign for Liberty
Rob Willard, Club for Growth
Joseph Bridgman, TeenPact Leadership School
Eric Zahnd, Platte County Prosecutor (great speech!!)
Mike Ferguson, Libertarian Party
Michelle Davis, American Family Association
Hearne Christopher, Columist
Robert Gipson, Iraq War Veteran
Dee Vantuyl, Blogger and talk show host
Ivan Foley, Platte County Landmark
Becky Cordero, AFP

Keynote speaker: Chris Stigall, Talk Radio KCMO 710 AM (whose comments follow, although incomplete due to lack of memory and muscle stamina...I need to invest in a tripod)

Interview With Kansas City Tea Party Organizer

Interview with Andrea Plunkett, organizer of the Kansas City, MO Tea Party on April 15th, 2009. She is a college student with 2 jobs that decided that there was no reason she should be giving up her money to an irresponsible government. She saw that there was no event happening in her area and committed to organizing this wonderful, PEACEFUL event. Andrea may not have thought that the Tea Party would be as big as it turned out to be(approx 5000), but she organized a respectful and knowledgable volunteer staff that kept everything running smoothly. I was so proud to be a part of it!

Right-Wing Extremist Report. What the heck?

First and foremost, I do not agree with what any extremist organization stands for, be it right or left-winged. I believe that anyone in this country, no matter their race or religion, has the same right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

With that said, I am concerned about this Department of Homeland Security report/assessment because it puts alot of vague ideas out there about who right-wing extremists might embody. The assessment talks about how right-wing extremists may be recruiting military veterans, the unemployed, those concerned about gun control and illegal immigration, and those concerned about the outsourcing to China, India or other areas. Again and again and again the document talks about the fact that an African American president has been elected and how that may spark radicalism or help in recruiting radicals. Once would have been enough.

Now, it is true that these are subjects that the white supremist or militia extremists use as talking points to recruit and/or justify violent acts. However, does it mean that anyone who holds one or more of these concerns is destined for the closest militia group. I think not.

The statements in this document are so vague that I am afraid they could pinpoint many who are just the average concerned U.S. citizen who loves their country and some that would fight for it no matter who the President happens to be solely on the principles for which the US stands. The problem is that most folks are watching those principles becoming null and void with many actions of the current administration and Congress.

I guess my biggest question becomes: "Where does it end?" If I am angry over illegal immigration, does this mean I am an extremist? If I believe in my second ammendment rights, does that me an extremist? If I am angry about out-sourcing or allowing China to buy up all of our debt, does that make me an extremist? They left this document so vague that logical conclusions can be drawn in this manner. So where does it end? When we all think the same? I can only pray and hope not. But then again, maybe I'm just clinging to my guns and religion.

This is just sick...these "people" that committed this atrocity should be spending the rest of their lives in jail breaking big rocks into little rocks. I have worked with the Wounded Warriors Project and Therapy Dogs and this is a travesty.

Green Light Given Before Or After Rescue?

First off, Congratulations and Welcome Home to Captain Phillips. I know your friends and family are so very happy to know your safe.

Captain Phillips is back on the USS Bainbridge. The Navy Commander and US Navy SEALs decisively engaged the pirates killing three and capturing one. Not surprisingly Obama and his administration are lining up to take credit and claim they gave the green light for action over and over again during the last 72 hours. As a matter of fact he is claiming he gave it twice. I guess it's twice because they want to emphasize that point. Why am I so skeptical?

Is it his comments about how we can't do anything by ourselves and have to only act with allies?

Is it his comments today that we must work only with allies to stem pirates?

Is it his indecisiveness with everything and playing to whatever crowd is present?

Is it his comments during the world apology tour?

Maybe it's that fact that the FBI was flown in to negotiate. Whats the matter you don't trust the military to handle it?

It's probably all of them. If this went badly he would have been claiming we needed to talk longer. Since it went well, they are immediately trying to take credit. Either way I'm not buying it.

By the way, he also said that he didn't bow.

Captain Frees Self, Navy Completes Rescue

Are we right to protest or just irrationally angry?

There has been discussion on some cable news channels concerning the actual purpose of the Tax Day Tea Parties. The organizers and participants were criticized for protesting taxes but not wanting to give up anything in return.
There was a comment made that the protesters, of course, have the right to protest, but perhaps do not have a solid agenda.

I think these folks are missing the point. Perhaps these criticisms are brought about because these protesters are not as seasoned as the average activist. Perhaps they do not articulate the agenda as a memorized pamphlet. I will be so bold as to say, however, that these activist, these protesters, these regular citizens know exactly why they are there. They do not recognize their own country any longer. They feel that they can be silent no more. They believe that their elected officials should reflect their values and goals; not an agenda that was hidden until after being sworn in. I believe the agenda is very solid. They are mad, very mad, about many decisions being made for them in Washington. Perhaps not "taxation without representation", but "policy and lawmaking under FALSE representation"

Here is why I will be attending:

1. I do not believe that spending what we do not have will pull us out of a black-hole economy. I DO believe in capitalism. It may be a hard road back, but the road back is there and waiting.

2. I do not believe the government has the right to fire people, make policy, or dictate pay of any privately owned business, no matter how messed up they are. If they are so messed up, let them fail and help the unemployed. (Minus the upper echelon)

3. I believe Congress needs to take responsibility instead of trying to point the finger to everyone else. They make the laws and policies. Then hide when the consequences come calling.

4. I believe that nationalized health care is not the answer. The "investment" that was proposed was really a down payment to socialism.

5. I believe there is more to come if we do not stand up now.

I am probably forgetting something. There seems to be something new and unbelievable everyday. How can anyone with a normal life keep up? Perhaps that is what the far-left is hoping. I hope to disappoint.

Pirates....

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,514635,00.html

I'm just wondering when the current administration is going to do something? Here we are, the most powerful nation in the world and our President can not figure out what to do about a rag tag element ambushing our shipping, and kidnapping our citizens.

Now I know discretion is called for, since they have a hostage. But this is exactly what Navy SEALS and Marines train for. Instead we have the FBI being flown in to negotiate. I thought we didn't negotiate with terrorists? Make no mistake, there is no difference between these "pirates" and terrorists. These are the same type of men who fought our brave Delta Operators, Rangers, and 10th Mountain Soldiers in Mogadishu.

In conclusion, I don't believe there is any surprise in the fact that these pirates never attacked US shipping during President Bush's term. They know what he would have done, and feared it. They do not fear Obama nor do they respect him. I think this is a very powerful indicator of what the world really thinks of him.

Congress and Tea Parties

I just read this, and was pretty surprised.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/04/09/tax-day-tea-party-protests-garner-support-repulican-lawmakers/

If members of Congress are planning to attend the Tax Day Tea Party protests on April 15, they're keeping awfully quiet about it.

The tea party movement has garnered nationwide attention since its launch on Feb. 27, and scores if not hundreds of tea parties are expected to be held across the country on Wednesday.
But so far, FOXNews.com has found only two members of Congress -- both Republicans -- who have committed to attending the demonstrations on the day income taxes are due.

Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina and Texas Rep. John Culberson, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, say they will attend the protests to show their opposition to the government's massive spending bill. That leaves roughly 530 senators and congressmen who haven't been heard from.

I'm surprised and confused. I thought that the Republican Congressmen and Women that we elected stood for smaller government and less taxes? For standing up and doing what was right. So why is there only two attending Tea Party Protests?

The Tea Party was designed and started to stand for these very principles. Are they scared to publicly stand up to the President, Pelosi, and Reid? I sure hope not, because if this is a sign of things to come, I'll be finding someone else to vote for in a year and a half.

Thank You to Senator DeMint and Representative Culberson. You truly are in the right place representing all of us.

Scary News Story UK

I saw this news article and it worried me. The UK has had issues with home grown terrorism and other country's diasporas that reside there. The implication for us is, this is far from over with. There are evil men out there that still want to inflict harm on us.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,514026,00.html

A desperate search was under way in Britain Thursday night for the terrorist bomb factory from which a suspected Al Qaeda cell planned to launch a devastating attack in Manchester, possibly as soon as Easter.

Hours after Britain’s most senior counter-terrorism officer resigned in disgrace, police operations were concentrating on a rundown block of apartments east of Liverpool's city center.

The block was cordoned off and large quantities of material were seized for examination. People were evacuated from the area, which had been rented out by a private landlord to foreign students.

Pakistan has criticized Britain’s immigration system and offered to help with security checks on foreign students after it emerged that the majority of those arrested in connection with the alleged terror plot entered the country on student visas.

VP Biden....Yes He's Lost It

Well most of us are questioning just what the heck the current administration is up to. But this sets a new low.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100days/2009/04/09/rove-calls-biden-liar-bush-aides-challenge-vps-boasts/

As Karl Rove said, he's a liar. The fact that he is our Vice President only makes things worse. The biggest problem is this kind of activity permeates our entire Presidents administration.

Great Article About Tea Parties

This was a great article. I had to point it out in case you missed it. More great reasons why Ill be at the Tea Party next week.

http://foxforum.blogs.foxnews.com/2009/04/08/roff_tea_parties-2/

No one in the modern Tea Party movement is arguing that the taxes, the spending and the borrowing that has thus far been the hallmark of Obama and the Congressional Democrats’ plan for America amounts to taxation without representation. But they will argue that the larger principle, that the federal government’s current largess is unfair is very much a matter for discussion. Why? Because Washington has obligated all of us, and our children, to pay the costs of cleaning up a mess largely created by government in the first place — just as King George III looked to the colonies to help fund his global competition with the French monarchy. And, again just like King George III, Obama and the Democrats want to make us believe they are doing it for our own good and in our own best interests.

And, just like our forefathers in the Sons of Liberty, the metaphorical tea is headed straight to the bottom of the Harbor.

False Tea Parties

DO NOT BE FOOLED! The Tea Party is the 15th. See the below link and key excerpts.

http://smartgirlpolitics.ning.com/profiles/blogs/group-to-undermine-tea-parties

Obama's new “Way Forward” front group is setting up nationwide rallies to undercut our Tea Parties – and undermine our entire banking system. And I need your help now to stop them!

Just this morning, I received word that a new radical organization calling itself “A New Way Forward” has put together an underhanded sneak attack designed to undercut the popular uprising known as the Tea Party movement. You may already be part of the Tea Party movement – in fact I hope you are. So, I knew you would want to know what the far left is up to now.

Simply put, their idea is to stage phony rallies throughout the country on April 11th made to look like they are part of the Tea Party movement – while actually opposing Tea Party principles and supporting the complete government takeover of our banking system.

If you are invited to any such protest, please read the small print and make sure you are backing your conscience and not someone else's.

Obama's Apology Tour

I'm just sitting here wondering why our President has felt it necessary to go on a world tour apologizing to everyone for the United States? Here's a couple quickie facts....

1. The United States has given more or our young men and women defending other people and countries then anyone else in history.
2. The United States has given more money as a government to other governments and private entities then any other country.
3. Our private citizens in the United States have given more charitable donations to others then any other country.

Here is another example. Our private citizens are continually traveling to China to do humanitarian assistance and adopt chinese babies. But, the Chinese Government is the number one buyer of US Treasury Bills. Why can they buy our TBills, further indebting us to them, while our Citizens are spending their money to help chinese citizens. Does any of this make sense?

I'm puzzled why, after all of this, we should be apologizing. If people don't want our help, well maybe we should just stop giving it. I wonder how long the rest of the world would go without our assistance.

Geithner at it again....

I read this earlier today and wow is all I could muster.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100days/2009/04/05/geithner-banks-federal-help-government-decides-executive-line/

Critics of the Obama administration's move last weekend to force out the chairman of General Motors Corp., Rick Wagoner, as a condition for possible additional federal loans say that strong government intervention contrasts with measures placed on the financial industry in return for billions in infusions.

Geithner denied there was a double standard and put banks on notice that they may need to change leadership teams in exchange for accepting more money in the future.

"If, in the future, banks need exceptional assistance in order to get through this, then we'll make sure that assistance comes with conditions, not just to protect the taxpayer but to make sure this is the kind of restructuring necessary for them to emerge stronger," he told "Face the Nation" on CBS. "And where that requires a change of management of the board, we'll do that."

I'm sorry, but when did the federal government start dictating CEO's and Boards to private companies? I'm not an expert on this, but isn't this how the United Kingdom started when they privatized industry? One of the worst events for their economy in the last 75 years.

It took the Falkland War and an unbelievable leader in the form of Margaret Thatcher to fix that situation. How far is Geithner going to try to take this??

We can not just keep throwing money at a lost cause, but taking over the private institution is not the AMERICAN answer. Of course, that brings us to the question "Should we be doing any bailouts at all?". I do not believe we should. Instead of throwing all the money at the company, put it to use in helping the people that the bankrupt company will lay off and help them find new jobs. Use the money for grants or loans to entrepreneurs or businesses willing to hire at least 50 people per $250,000. Let's get creative, let's help each other out. THAT is the AMERICAN way!

What's the Truth??

You know, getting rid of nuclear weapons sounds nice. Even if the realism of doing so is a bit stretched by international relations and games, but that isn't really the point this morning.

It seems Obama will say whatever he needs to, to whatever crowd he is addressing, to get the applause. Everyone loves someone who agrees with them.

First off, we have the missile defense shield. Obama says it needs to be done away with. Now, he gives a speech saying it is of vital importance.

Second, we hear, "We as Americans are Arrogant" while he is addressing a European town hall meeting, but right before he leaves he gushes on the greatness of the United States. By the way, why is OUR PRESIDENT having a TOWN HALL MEETING in a town that is in ANOTHER COUNTRY. Sorry, I digress.

Third, we hear, no new taxes, but then we feel the effects of all the new taxes.

I don't know what President Obama stands for. The world does not know what the United States stands for any longer.

I wonder if the president even knows what he thinks, or is it more his administration just wants to pander to whoever they are addressing. Either way, I'm confused by them, and it's not good for America.

North Korea Rocket Launch

North Korea launched their rocket from all current reports. Now, I'm very curious to see how the administration handles this. Doesn't seem like North Korea got the memo on "Hope and Change"

A Fable?

There was once a Greek Philosopher named Thucydides. He lived during the Pelopponesian War between Athens and Sparta. He also published the famous book, "The History of the Pelopponesian War."

I bring Thucydides up because of what he had to say about the nation of Athens during this war. You see, Athens had stood for enlightenment, democracy, and what was right. But slowly over the course of the war, that changed. It wasn't big changes, but rather small changes that no one really stood up against.

First it was changes from a smaller government to much larger with an overflowing bureaucracy. Then it was the insistence that we are the people in power, and we know what is best, so you'll follow it or else. Then finally among there things, was a complete breakdown of their moral fabric.

In the end, Athens self-destructed. Yes, there were military victories and defeats, but all that they had said they stood for was no longer there. Athens, for all intents and purposes, was gone. The Spartans were not responsible for the fall of Athens. Athens had done it to itself.

Anytime a person, or a society starts making compromises they lose part of themselves. When this trend continues, it only gets worse.

What makes it worse is when the populace of the country just sit back and let things happen because its too hard to do something. Doing nothing is always easy, but rarely has reward.

More on new law in Afghanistan

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100days/2009/04/03/obama-administration-struggles-afghan-law-legalize-rape/

Updates from NATO Conference

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/04/04/obamas-bid-troops-afghanistan-fails/

Barack Obama made an impassioned plea to America's allies to send more troops to Afghanistan, warning that failure to do so would leave Europe vulnerable to more terrorist atrocities.

But though he continued to dazzle Europeans on his debut international tour, the Continent's leaders turned their backs on the U.S. President.

Gordon Brown was the only one to offer substantial help. He offered to send several hundred extra British soldiers to provide security during the August election, but even that fell short of the thousands of combat troops that the U.S. was hoping to prise from the prime minister.

Just two other allies made firm offers of troops. Belgium offered to send 35 military trainers and Spain offered 12. Obama's host, Nicolas Sarkozy, refused his request.

The presidential charm offensive failed to move fellow Nato countries. President Sarkozy told Obama that France would not be sending reinforcements to bolster its existing force northeast of Kabul.

Sharia......

I once thought that Islam, in its pure form, was a beautiful religion. It has many aspects that guide its followers to a help others, look after their body, use good hygiene, and have compassion for fellow human beings. I thought that only those that interpreted the Koran into their own extremist views were the ones who wanted all non-Muslims dead. Upon recent investigation and research, I have changed my mind. We keep on hearing about moderate Islam. How moderate Islam is so different from extremist Islam. All I have to say is......there in no longer any such a thing.

Read this link and then read on....

From Jihad Watch:

First off, Dean Koh has stated that the United States of America has committed illegal actions around the world and should be held accountable for it. Excuse me, but we have spent the last 75 years working to help the rest of the world. Working to give our own hard earned money and blood to other nations....but that is not good enough for Dean Koh.

On top of that, we are inundated with these accounts of how sharia is not a bad thing. Well, here are a few things that I have found. You decide:

1. According to the four main Islamic Schools of Law, the purpose of all Islamic People under sharia is to force non-Islamic people into submission. Yes, this means exactly what it says. It means submit. In other words, give up all freedom to them.

2. The penalty for not enforcing sharia is called being an apostate. Most people assume that postate means you were Islamic but then turned to another religion. That is only partially true. It also means someone who does not or will not enforce all of sharia. The penalty......is death. Have you ever wondered why so called, "moderate Islam", will not flat out deny extremists? It's because in many cases they would be guilty of apostate and under penalty of death.

3. Moderate Islam claims that there are no true laws that are hard and fast. Things are completely in flux. It's all open to interpretation; again...wrong. Just one example, is again, apostate. For some people the example of breaking a rule and enforcing a death penalty might sound moderate. To me, its pretty straight forward and hard core. Apostate is just an example of a hard and fast rule that is not flexible.

4. Finally, we have the example of Great Britain. Here we have a society where sharia law has come completely into conflict with the laws of the United Kingdom. Great Britain has given sharia law the ability to handle domestic disputes. Women are now lawfully being beaten by their husbands for something as insignificant as cooking the wrong thing for dinner to beheading them for wanting a divorce. Our Constitution is a precious document that can not be infringed upon in this way. Sharia can not come to fruition in his great country.

If you doubt anything I said, go and read the book, "Milestones." It can be found at any mosque, including those that say they are moderate. Just take caution, they won't make it easy to get a copy.

Hope and Change??? Not for our Brothers in Arms...

Please read the below articles!!!I stumbled across this earlier. These native interpreters have risked everything and on top of that, this man has fought like the bravest of our troops, shoulder to shoulder with our husbands/wives, brothers/sisters, and sons/daughters. He has saved many of our soldiers lives and this is how we repay him. This is unbelievable.......

From Fox News:

http://majorsperspective.blogspot.com/2009/04/this-is-travesty.html

http://www.blackfive.net/main/2009/04/trying-to-kill-heroes-our-state-department.html

So, after all of this time, we have a true Patriot of Iraq who has risked his life, risked his family, and given his blood, sweat, and tears to the cause of liberty and democracy; and he is passively sentenced to death by our own State Department. This is a disgrace.

Not that I am surprised. So far we have had a complete change in attitude at the State Department under this new administration. We once stood for democracy and doing what is right; that is no longer the case according to them. Even our own President has apologized for us. Apologized for us protecting the free world. Apologized for us giving trillions of dollars to developing countries.

What is going on here???? Am I the only one who thinks this is insane??? I am left with the question what would our Founding Father's say???

Jasim needs to be granted his VISA now. I strongly encourage, no; I implore you, to call the number given in the BLACKFIVE Article and tell the State Department to get their act together, do their jobs, and grant the VISA.
