Why this blog was started....

I did not want to start this blog. I am not the first person or even the secong to pick up a sign and march on the corner. But now...now something is happening in this country that I can not ignore or stand by in silent protest. I am wondering what my fellow citizens will allow to happen to/in this country that I love.
I feel that I am moderate in my views. I am for women's rights, but also for right to life, but do not believe there needs to be protest about either. I believe that capitalism is the right way for this country to grow and prosper, but I also believe that we should assist someone who is trying to find work and care for their family. I believe in volunteering even when you don't have the time and taking cookies to the lady whose husband is in Iraq.

I believe that most people in this country want to help here and in other countries, even if those countries have policies that strive to bring our country down.

I believe in the human spirit and even more than that, the American spirit.

I also believe that there are those who have agendas that would bring about Socialism or something very similar in this country. I believe there are those that seek to destroy this country and it's people mostly because someone has told them that their religion's teachings say that the U.S is the great satan of the world. I believe that a high position in government does not give you complete power over the people, the people give you the authority and if they so choose, can take it away. Until someone changes the Constitution, We The People have the greatest power, the power to vote and to speak out and to protest any unjust action or policy that we see as unjust. We have the power, even if you feel like you are the only one in the forest, the only voice in the wilderness, there are others that will join you, that are waiting, if only you will raise your voice and give them a beacon.
